Hi, I ‘m Avenoir

Pillow Testers / Plate Chasers / Wellness lovers / Detail Spotters

the face behind avenoir

What began as fielding endless requests from friends ("Where should we stay?") evolved into my life's work. I don't just recommend hotels – I blueprint entire journeys, considering every detail from morning light to evening ambiance, from the texture of linens to the rhythm of your days.

Avenoir started, like many good ideas, over a glass of wine — trying to quantify the unquantifiable factors that make all the difference. What makes a coffee shop worth the hype? What are the little things in a hotel lobby that change everything? How do you plan a trip and leave disappointment behind at the departure gate?

That conversation spiralled into a passionate obsession — to figure this out and deliver journeys and guides that take the complication out of the process. Curated for the discerning individual who appreciates the little details that make a good trip great.

I'm so glad you're here.

    Hi, I'm Katrina.

If we haven't met yet — I'm a travel obsessive, aesthetic nurse, and founder of Avenoir, currently based in Lisbon.

I started Avenoir because I kept finding myself being the person friends called before a trip. Where should I stay? What's actually worth it? Is that restaurant as good as the photos? I genuinely loved being that person, the one who had done the research, stayed in the room, eaten the meal, and could give an honest answer.

So I built the thing I wished existed. A space where the recommendations are real, the places have actually been visited, and the curation comes from someone who cares about the details — the thread count, the morning light through the window, the coffee on arrival.

I travel slowly and intentionally, and I take a lot of notes. I notice when a hotel gets the small things right, and I notice when it doesn't.

If you're someone who books a trip and immediately starts a notes folder, who lingers at the table long after the bill arrives, who travels to feel something, you're in the right place.
